About The Club

Located in North Hampshire, bordering both Surrey and Berkshire is a village called Yateley. Yateley is just 30 miles outside of central London and is just off junction 4a of the M3 making it easily accessible. Its also a short journey from junction 11 of the M4 and the A30 Camberley.

The club itself has been running meetings for the past 12 years within the school site. It started off on the "A Block" playground where each week we had to lay out a track with thick gym rope, race control was in a bivvy and the rostrum was a ramp for a school hut. nether the less it served us well for 12 years, encouraging school pupils and parents alike into the world of RC racing and everyone enjoyed it!

In late 2006 plans for a purpose built track were approved, we secured funding and the ball was rolling. In early 2007 it was in full swing and track construction commenced. A lot of hard work was put in by club members especially Ian Finch making this a world class facility. By June 2006 the track was fully finished and officially opened by BTCC champion Rob Collard.
Now life's a lot easier with our very own machined laid track found on Yateley Schools "C Block" field. This brand new state of the art racing track is securely fenced, CCTV monitored and only accessible by an electronic gate. Members are issued with electronic swipe cards allowing them to practise outside of school hours.

Club Facilities

Yateley School Car Club has many excellent facilities to offer. The pits are right next to the track on a big school playing field. If the ground is to wet and the field is not accessible then we have access to a securely fenced playground a short distance from the track. We also have camping facilities for national events and access to the schools toilets. Disabled drivers can pit within the compound on the concrete surface, allowing easy access to the race track and race control.

At YSCC we are running the latest timing equipment giving drivers detailed lap times. Currently we are using AMB timing equipment along with RC-Timing software; all being run from our very professional Race control. For the drivers and spectators alike we have an electronic scoreboard and start lights so everyone knows what's going on. Also for Sunday and national meets we have our very own food wagon serving hot food and cold drinks so the drivers are always fuelled up!
