Children in Need - A Great Success On the 18th November there was a Children in Need Race day run as part of the usual YSCC Championship. Mark Male put forward the idea and organised the event. Drivers paid 10p for every lap that they completed throughout the day and the Faulkner's successfully fuelled all the drivers up with bacon, egg and hotdog rolls. A Grand Total of £100 was raised and Mark would personally like to thank all the drivers for their generosity.

FINCHES FAVOUR FROST!

In Round 9 the family trio achieved an impressive all Finch 1,2,3 in qualifying and on the final podium. This was achieved in the Frost which seemed to not be a problem at all for the Flying Finches. Ian Finch was ecstatic that not only had his hard work on all three cars paid off but he proved that his developmental set-up had the pace to beat the car in stock form by beating his son James.

For 2 rounds now the front runners have been kitted out with the alternative wet tyre. The long lasting Fastrax 330 was simply the "pits" compared to the Pit shimuzu D20 threaded tyre. Initial impressions are that in the cold and damp conditions the D20s also have a reasonable wear rate. All the recent A finalists have been using the D20s.

Championship Confusion? Cleared up?

Due to retirements and missed rounds some drivers championship points are misleading. Until they have completed the minimum number of counting rounds this will still be the case. Perhaps a better indication of the Championship so far is this table in order of best 8 counting rounds. This is only to provide a better indication of positions at this stage. BEST 8 ROUNDS TABLE

Are The Fastest After Fangio Falling Over Each Other?

It would appear so!

A final results from round 9 show that Matt Morden and Rory 'Enzo' Elston achieved the next fastest laps after Fangio but due to the battle for position between them they lost time.
