The Yateley crew had 4 new
members join in the fun on Sunday Darren Sullivan Kieran
Clift and father Dave and Lex Shanks.
First round Finch senior posted
an 18 lapper to put him 7th in the 19t B final and Ashley post
another 18 lapper to put him 6th in the 27t B final flying
start could it last?
Kieran won his H heat Clift
senior had a mare of a first round, Darren came home third in the
D heat, Lex was struggled with huge power difference to the rest
of the heat he was in and it was to continue for the remainder of
the day,
Round 2 the Finches stayed on
CS 22 to long and paid for it, Dave improved and so did Darren but
Kieran was blocked so did not improve, 3rd and final round
Finch senior changed motor and had nothing but total interference
resulting in pulling out to leave Dave to go ahead on time Ashley
managed to stay in the B Final nobody else improved .
Finals Kieran was first out he
came home 3rd which set him up for the next final, Ashley did his
usual trick of not checking to see if he needed to changed crystal
so left it till the last minute and missed the start of his first
Final, Darren mean time came home second in the D final Lex
was lost still with any power, and that left Dave and Finch senior
to battle it out and they did fighting for 5th and sixth in the C
final only for Dave to nick it on the very last corner as Finch
senior hit the brakes to hard and spun his car for Dave to go
through and take the place on the line.
2nd and last Final of the day
and Kieran lost a body pin which sent his dad over the ( Red
Bull ) top only to find after giving the lad a good ticking off
for not stopping for a body pin to find he had come 2nd overall in
his Finals so all was forgotten quickly they kissed and made up.
Darren went out and made sure
he was coming home with a trophy to take another 2nd place and the
unlucky Lex was still well under power but still just about
running.
Ashley remembered his crystal
this time and started 10th came home 5th shame about the first
final, then up next was the return battle in the C final between
Finch in the red corner and Clift in the Blue corner it soon
became apparent from the start that Finch senior was not going to
make the same mistake again and after 3 laps had the measure
of Clift senior by 3/4 of a lap lead and furthered the lead by
taking another place, at the line Finch senior went over 5th
and Clift Senior finished 7th
Dave's bad luck continued as
when were all leaving his van would not start and had to wait for
the AA till 11.30 that night to get recovered home what a day !
5 -1/2 hours good service ?
