CONCOURSE CONTROVERSY

Rumour is that Chris Wilkinson of the SLCC doesn't like running concourse competitions anymore because misquote, "nobody paints their own any more." It turns out that statement was very prophetic! At the SLCC Barham a concourse was reluctantly run and mistakenly a woman was chosen to judge the winner. The advice given to the aesthetically challenged individual was, "it has to look raced." She took the advice literally and set about finding the car that looked as if it had spent the most time chewing curbs. Ian Mullaney's new Mazda 6 had only got round the track a handful of times but its bumper was covered in battle scars and fitted the bill perfectly. Without hesitation the judge picked the two tone blue body complete with dragon under shell stickers. The Yateley crew members were completely astonished and blind confusion followed whilst they tried to convinced themselves that what they had just seen wasn't a hallucination induced by inhaling excessive amounts of motor cleaner vapour. Then as Ian M strolled back with a Cheshire cat grin on his face it appeared the impossible was true. Finch Senior was fuming - the final twist in this ugly tale was that not only was the shell totally inferior to everything else on show but it had been Painted by Ian Finch for Ian Mullaney. Lastly the shell and its owner posed for a photo shoot on the track - lapping up all the controversial attention.

Above: Heated debate over the moral issue of Ian M's win.

More to follow soon.......... (yes I do know that James was there)
