Following on from a
highly successful first year under the new motor and tyre rules Yateley
School Car Club will be continuing under the same regulations for the next
Championship. It is clear that the 19t motors and cut-slick tyres achieved
the goals of closer racing and low costs.
With the each of the 2nd & 3rd ,
4th & 5th and 6th & 7th driver pairs not being separated by more
that 9 points out of over 1500 the racing is nail bitingly close.
The low cost element of the racing
cannot be better illustrated than by the fact that YSCC Champion Ashley
"Fangio" Finch went for the entire season on one set of the
Fastrax Cut-slick control tyre - available from our sponsors Microtech
Racing.
For this season there is a
professional new rostrum
banner.
Have you got a new shell?
Worked hard on you car? Then send me the details
and some pictures and I'll post them up here. This will be the Pre-season
"banter" and "rumour mill". Psyche out your competition
with your shiny clean chassis. e-mail y_s_c_c@hotmail.com Almost
every driver in the field last year chose to use the Reedy Quad Magnet 19t
motor. The top three championship finishers were using Reedy power. This
year there is rumour of some experimentation on the motor front from some
drivers - as far as I am aware the Champ is sticking with the Quad Mag. The
top 5 finishers were using 4 different chassis. It is likely that most
drivers will stay with their current car - though not all! New
racing colours for "Enzo Elston Racing" and Ashley makes a
switch to "Red Bull Racing" for F1 despite his mutterings about
"Minardi".
